News and Events

September 10, 2010 is World Suicide Prevention Day

Events include:

Swanavon Thrill Hill Dedication and Survivors' Event

Friday, September 10, 2010 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

Swanavon Thrill Hill, 102 Street close to 88 Avenue

In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day - a little live music, a little hot chocolate, a quick thanks and dedication ceremony, a candle lighting and off you go about your day. 15 to 20 minutes tops.

What better way to start a day and to end a hectic week than to take a minute to light a candle and take in the morning as the sun comes up with good company, soft music and a hot chocolate. See you there.

Steak Dinner and Silent Auction Fundraiser at the Lions Den

September 11th, 2010. 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $15. Money raised will go directly to the operation of SPRC and its many programs and services for 2010 and 2011. The Lions' Den Pub is located at 10702 108A Street, across from the College. The purchase of a ticket gives you a cooked- to-order steak, baked potato and salad as well as lots of fun with friends!
There will be a silent auction and 50-50 draws through the evening.

For information or to purchase a ticket, please call 780.539.6680 or talk to any staff or board member.

We will also be at Grande Prairie Regional College's Student Orientation on September 8th and again on September 15th.
