The Breakfast Club for Teens



The Breakfast Club is a free program for teens who are having difficulties dealing with problems such as confict with family or friends, school issues, or emotional struggles. It includes a weekend retreat, group follow-up, monthly support and friendship nights, and individual support as required. The Breakfast Club also offers educational presentations on "Depression and Getting Help" to schools and youth groups, as well as one-day youth workshops directed to interested communities or organizations.

It is currently funded by Alberta Health Services, Child and Family Services Authority, FCSS Green View, FCSS City of Grande Prairie, FCSS County of Grande Prairie, and donations. The Community Foundation has provided a grant to help with transportation costs.

New Workshop for 9-12 year olds November 14, 2009
The Breakfast Club is holding a free one-day workshop on November 14th in Grande Prairie. Topics will include stress, feelings, dealing with anger, bullying, friendships, family relationships and problem solving. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Please call or email to reserve a spot!
